The plan has been, and remains, the purchase of a quad core Android box to hook up to my TV in the living room, and populate a memory device with as many classic games as can be done by way of emulation. This plan continues, and draws closer every day. To that end, I purchased the Green Throttle Atlas from eBay (Seller dcegroup).

I paid a whopping $10 (Sale price still current as of typing this), and went ahead and picked up two of them. I love the style, as it matches the XBOX 360 style, and has nearly-identical button placement, but I also like the fact that it’s capable of doing up to 4 devices. It’s a bit of a trick to get that particular feature to work, but I did figure it out.

Step 1 :  Turn off the Bluetooth on the device that you have already paired with the controller.

Step 2: Place controller in pairing mode by holding down the green and silver G button in the middle top. (You should see four flashing lights)

Step 3: Search for Bluetooth devices on the second device you want to pair.

Repeat Steps 1-3 for devices 3 and 4.

Pretty straightforward, once you get down to it.

Overall, I love the layout, it feels very familiar, and works great. I tested it with GENPLUSDroid, playing Sonic the Hedgehog, and it worked great. I would recommend to ignore the settings for loading and speed controls, as they serve no purpose, as far as game-play goes. Leave those things to the primary device input.

BONUS

Since I’m a custom-controller kind of guy, and I dig the separator line in the design, I thought it might be a fairly simple job taking it apart and custom-painting the bottom area. In doing so, I found a secret under the battery compartment. There is a micro-usb port. Now, I presume this was used as a method to program the device originally, and I might get into that with my brother (changing or expanding capabilities), but what it does do, is eliminate the need for a charger. I tested it while plugged in with a couple of different phone charging cables I had laying around, and it kept power and maintained connection to my phone. It’s a bit obtuse in placement, but it wasn’t meant to be used as a power source, hence the sticker that used to be over it.
